May-September is mild — 15-24°C / 59-75°F, perfect for walking the medieval Old Town. June-August is peak tourist season + prices 30-50% higher + Auschwitz tours sell out 2-3 weeks ahead. Visit BOTH Auschwitz I (main museum with exhibits in barracks) + Birkenau (3km away, larger death camp ruins, free shuttle bus). Total visit 3.5-4 hours.
